Town Council Public Hearing Minutes 10/21/2013
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES

October 21, 2013

7:15 p.m.

South Windsor Town Council

PURPOSE:        To receive citizen input on a Proposed Ordinance
Authorizing the Acquisition of Open Space

Mayor Delnicki called the Public Hearing to order at 7:22 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto).  There were approximately ten (10) people present in the audience.

Mr. Matthew Galligan, Town Manager explained that in the bond issue for the $2,000,000.00 it is stated that any money that is spent on open space with this $2,000,000 requires an Ordinance to buy each property which would require a public hearing.  Once the Ordinance is created and the Town purchases other properties with these same funds, the Ordinance can be amended.

Mayor Delnicki asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak, there was none.

Mayor Delnicki then asked for a Straw Vote, the results of which were as follows:

Those supporting the proposed Ordinance Authorizing the Acquisition of Open Space:  6

Those in opposition of the proposed Ordinance Authorizing the Acquisition of Open Space:  0

The public hearing was closed at 7:26 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
